the most comprehensive philosophy of the visual arts - ever...

On the cover of Phenomenology of the Visual Arts - James Elkins says something about this being the most systematic phenomenology of the visual arts. Rest assured it's more than that - it's the most comprehensive philosophy of the visual arts ever written by anyone. Everything from drawing to digital is in there, and what's more is that Crowther concentrates on whats embodied in the visual work itself - instead of the usual emphasis on 'theory' that remains stuck on reception.
